The Kermit Chair was designed in 1984 by a BMW motorcyclist called Kermit, who wanted a light, lightweight chair that would fit on his motorbike but be sturdy and comfortable for long evenings around the campfire. None of the chairs on the market satisfied him, so he made his own. kermit's friends noticed his chair during camping trips and BMW rallies and before he knew it, the Kermit chair was born. Word spread from there and the Kermit chair soon became the camping chair of choice for BMW motorbike riders. This comes from the fact that it is all handmade and the natural handcrafted texture of the wood is not at odds with the outdoors.
